What Data We Collect and Why

Contact Form

When you fill out the contact form, we process your name, email address and the content of your message. We use this data solely to answer your question. Additionally, we automatically register the page from which you sent the form, so we can place your question in the right context.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in being able to respond to questions from visitors.
Retention period: maximum 24 months after the last correspondence, unless we need to retain your message for legal reasons.

Spam Protection (Google reCAPTCHA)

To prevent our contact form from being misused by automated systems, we use Google reCAPTCHA. Among other things, your IP address, browser data and your mouse and keyboard behaviour on the form page are sent to Google, which uses this to determine whether you are human.

Stockist Finder

On the Stockists page, you can search for stores near you. This can be done in two ways:

• You type a municipality or postcode yourself. That search query is processed in your own browser. We do not store it linked to you.
• You click on “near me”. Your browser will then explicitly ask you for permission to share your location. If you do, we use your coordinates only at that moment to calculate the distance to the stockists. Your location is not stored and not sent to us.

Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time via your browser settings.

Map Material (OpenStreetMap)

The map on the stockist page uses map images from OpenStreetMap. When the map loads, your IP address is technically necessarily passed on to OpenStreetMap servers. More information in the privacy policy of the OpenStreetMap Foundation.

Website Statistics (Google Analytics)

With your permission, we use Google Analytics 4 to measure how our website is used: which pages are visited, which channels bring visitors in and which buttons are clicked. This way we know what information people are looking for and we can improve the website. We do not use this data to identify individual visitors and we do not sell it on.

Legal basis: your consent. If you do not give it, no analytical cookies are placed and we do not measure your visit.
Retention period: 14 months at user level; aggregated reports remain available longer.

Language Preference

This website is available in Dutch, French, German and English. To remember your language choice, we store a technically necessary cookie. It does not contain personal data.

Who We Share Your Data With

We never sell your data and only share it with parties that help us operate this website and our services:

• Combell NV (Ghent, Belgium) — website hosting
• Coemans — website design, maintenance and technical support
• Google Ireland Limited — website statistics (Google Analytics) and spam protection (reCAPTCHA)
• Cookie Script — management of your cookie consent

Necessary data processor agreements have been entered into with these parties. Additionally, we may share data when we are legally required to do so.

Data Transfer Outside the European Economic Area

When using Google services, data may be processed on servers outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and also applies the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission. This ensures an adequate level of protection.

How We Protect Your Data

The website runs entirely over a secure connection (HTTPS). Access to website management is limited to a small number of people and secured with personal accounts. Software is updated regularly. If you notice anything that doesn’t seem right, let us know at info@muva.be.

What Rights You Have

• have incorrect data corrected;
• have your data deleted;
• restrict processing or object to it;
